Start here to sign the books or apply for work. After your submission is reviewed, Local 602 will set up eligible users in the member-management system and send portal-access instructions by email.

How the Local 602 jobs process works

Initial sign-in is available online for Book 1 and Book 2. In-person kiosk sign-in is also available during business hours at the Amarillo and Lubbock halls. After processing, the Member Portal is used for list position, re-sign, job bidding, and contact updates.

    Register

    Submit the correct Book 1 or Book 2 initial sign-in request online, or use the Amarillo/Lubbock hall kiosk for in-person registration.

    Office processing

    Local 602 processes the request within 2-3 business days depending on workload and confirms eligibility, documentation, and classification.

    Portal access

    Once processed, you receive access to the IBEW 602 Member Portal to view your Available-for-Work List position, re-sign, bid on jobs, and update your personal information.

    Daily jobs

    Available Jobs are updated daily in the Member Portal. Use the portal or LaborPower app to bid on jobs according to dispatch rules.

Common questions about jobs and book signing

What time is Local 602 dispatch?

Dispatch is at 9:00 AM each morning. Calls are posted in the Member Portal and LaborPower app, and registrants may bid through those tools after access is active. Phone handling remains available only as described in Local 602 dispatch rules.

How do I sign the books?

Book 1 and Book 2 initial sign-in are available online. In-person sign-in is also available during business hours at 200 S. Fannin in Amarillo or 405 50th Street in Lubbock. Book 3 remains in person unless Local 602 later approves online handling.

When do I re-sign?

Re-sign between the 10th and 16th of each month. Use the Member Portal when available. Local 602 also allows re-sign by mail, email, or dispatcher phone/message during the published window; mailed re-signs must be postmarked no later than the 15th. Include your name, card number, and date.

How do I bid on posted jobs?

After portal access is active, indicate interest in posted jobs through the Member Portal or LaborPower app between 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM on business days and anytime on weekends or holidays. You may also call the Amarillo or Lubbock hall between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM the morning after a call is posted.

What happens after I submit a book-signing request or application?

Local 602 reviews the submission, eligibility, documentation, and classification before setting up portal access. Processing is expected within 2-3 business days depending on workload. Once processed, eligible registrants can view list position, re-sign, bid on jobs, and update contact information through the Member Portal.

Is a TDLR license number required on the application?

No. The TDLR license number field is optional. Add your TDLR electrical license number if you have one.
